Composition Techniques

The main four composition techniques include a rule of thirds technique, a framing shot, an unusual angle, and leading lines. In every camera shot, frame, or angle, there is a 3x3 grid, even if you can't see it. The rule of thirds shot uses the grid to help create an interesting shot. It basically lines up the subject in one of the three columns;left, middle, or right. A framing shot is fairly simple. It uses a natural or artificial objects to "frame" your subject. An unusual angle uses new perspectives to get a creative angle, instead of an uninteresting camera shot. Leading lines, as the name implies, are lines that lead your line of sight to your subject.
